Getting Better
Warlock!
The Warlock was the 3rd hero I unlocked and went straight to level 10 with. I always played a ‘Lock for fun in WoW, so I wanted to see if I could have just as much fun in Hearthstone.
We will take the starter basic deck and substitute in what our Patrons pointed out as being much needed for your first Warlock deck.
1x Stormwind Knight —-> 1x Mortal Coil
2x Bloodfen Raptor —-> 2x Power Overwhelming
2x Bluegill Warrior —-> 2x Darkbomb
2x Shadow Bolt —-> 2x Flame Imp
1x Ironfur Grizzly —-> 1x Doomguard
2x Gnomish Inventor —-> 2x Murloc Tidehunter
1x Stormwind Champion —-> 1x Imp-losion
The Mulligan
When going first you want to try to have Mortal Coil, and/or [Dark Bomb] for removal and a Flame Imp or other 2 mana minion to play.
When going 2nd with the [Coin] you can keep anything you did for going first, except you can allow for a 3 mana minion as the coin will allow you to play that on your 2nd turn.
Play this deck fast!
The Warlock’s hero power allows you to play all of your minions without fear of having no cards to play on your next turn. So play those minions and use them to trade until you can do damage to face. Unlike the face hunter, you will trade often with this deck until you can get the bigger minions on your side and use Power Overwhelming to finish off your opponent.
The key cards in this deck are Power Overwhelming and [DoomGuard]. The idea is to get the opposing hero to 10 health and clear their taunts/secrets. Then if you have a minion on your side that is ready to attack, use Power Overwhelming to give it +4/+4 and play Doomguard. Always play other cards before Doomguard, as his battlecry can discard what you planned to play that turn. =(
Other key cards/combos are Imp-losion and Frostwolf Warlord or Stormwind Champion. I often play Imp-losion on turn 4 and the Frostwolf Warlord on turn 5 for a nice big dude that will usually stick around.

Mistress of Pain 2 mana ¼ – “Whenever this minion deals damage, restore that much health to your hero”
Imp-losion 4 mana – “Deal 2-4 damage to a minion. Summon a 1/1 imp for each damage dealt.
Fel Cannon 4 mana ⅗ – “At the end of your turn, deal 2 damage to a non-Mech minion.”
Demonheart 5 mana – “Deal 5 damage to a minion. If it’s a Demon, give it +5/+5 instead.”
Floating Watcher 5 mana 4/4 – “Whenever your hero takes damage on your turn, gain +2/+2.”
Anima Golem 6 mana 9/9 – “At the end of your turn, destroy this minion if it’s your only one.”
Mal'Ganis 9 mana 9/7 – “Your other Demons have +2/+2. Your hero is immune”

Hello Vastidious and Ariannwyn –
Just started following your podcast this last weekend AND I’m already through
episode 6. I was able to jump in on Espo’s stream this evening as well. Anyway,
you guys all do a great job and I love the podcast! I’m definitely a big fan of
Hearthstone, but trying to improve as a player. Thanks for the help in that
regard! Not sure if you add podcast followers as Battlenet friends, but if so,
that would be awesome. It would be fun to catch a couple games with you from time
to time!

Another great show and great to hear Espos voice again. (No! Seriously! Im not joking)
Cant believe you got another legendary and Captain Greenskin is a fun card and one of the few legendaries I have. In the Ari not getting a legendary saga, I thought it might be interesting to get a listener just to come on and open a pack each week to see if they get one before her since now its Vas 3 Espo 2 Matty 1 Ari 0.
Like listening to everyones level and ranked wins and would love to hear if for all classes.
Last a question.. Are the Black Rock Mountain Cards available in the arena at the moment and if not do you think they will be before the adventure mode goes live?

Hey mate,
There was an episode a little while back in which Arianwyn mentioned that she got two new quests in one day, and I remember believing her even though it didn’t seem right.
Here’s how it probably happened:

Probably a good tip for you guys and your listeners.

Hello again,
Ever since I started Hearthstone a bit over a year ago, I have been too scared of
arena to try it. Every time I got 100 gold I would buy a pack. This remains true.
However, I have discovered a way to practice arena without hurting your gold supply.
What I did was open up my Asian server (one I had not used before) and I completed
the tutorial, leveled mage to level 10, beat all the expert bosses, played some
constructed and all this got me about 300 gold.
Combining that with my free arena run for completing the tutorial, I can now do at
least 3 runs to practice my skills. Hopefully, using the gold I win and using quests
I can start going infinite on arena, only stopping to get more gold through
constructed.
This might be, for some people, a great way to practice arena without feeling the
stress of loosing gold on your main account.

Slight correction to your praise for the Bane of Doom card. Although the card text says “a random demon,” it selects from a very limited pool of demons. They are the following:
Blood Imp
Voidwalker
Flame Imp
Dread Infernal
Succubus
Felguard
As far as I can tell, they haven’t been updated to include any Naxx or GvG demons. While it’s nice to get flame imps, dread infernals, succubus, and felguards without the penalty, you can’t get a 3/15 Jaraxxus or a Malganis.
Thanks for the correction. I remember now when talking about this once with a friend we figured this out and were bummed out.
You never said what legendary card you opened on the podcast – just three of you going I don’t believe it.
I did say it but it was REALLY quiet and I think Espo talked over it. I ended up opening Cairne Bloodhoof! Sorry about that. I’ll also mention it on this coming episode.
Well met! Here comes another (minor) correction: Anima Golem is destroyed if there are no friendly minions at the end of EACH turn. If your opponent destroys all your other minions, at the end of their turn, your Anima Golem is also destroyed.
