LOTI 026 – Legend of the Innkeeper – “Listener Questions”
Welcome to the Legend of the Innkeeper. I’m Vastidious, I’m Ariannwyn and I’m Espo! We’re glad you could join us for our 26th episode.
This week we are talking about…
What did you do this week?
Top 3 of the week – If you could get any Legendary for Christmas, what would it be?
Vastidious – Mechgineer Thermaplug
Espo – Mal’Ganis !!!!
1. Android version is out!
If you play one game on an Android device, you get a free Classic pack.
2. AND you can get more packs for your money through Amazon
There is a tricky way to accomplish this, meaning you have to do it on an Android device, using the Hearthstone app you download from Amazon. Read the info here for details: http://hearthstone.blizzpro.com/2014/12/20/buy-more-packs-with-amazon-deal/
But if you do it this way, currently you can purchase 71 packs for $49. Normally you would get 40 packs at that price.
3. Blizzard adjusts pack prices in Russia
If you haven’t been following the news, Russia is having financial issues and the exchange rate of the Rouble has more than doubled in the last few months. Just this week Apple stopped selling from their online store as they adjust prices. Blizzard followed suit raising prices on their online store for packs. 2 packs went from 99 Roubles to 186, 7 packs – 320 to 618, 15 packs – 700 to 1220, 40 packs – 1650 to 3175, 60 packs – 2300 to 4302. Arena went from 66 to 123.
4. Good Gaming Tournament A Bust
Good Gaming advertised a $10,000 casual player tournament. It was even posted on the Blizzard client late last week. Entry fee was $5. The tournament started Friday and reports are that many players were at it for more than 10 hours. During this time, just after the first round, the tournament gets reset. 6 hours later they announce that instead of 5 wins you now need 4 wins to move on. Then they change it back to 5 wins. Then they come out and say that they are just going to stop the tournament and place everyone based on the current standings. Then they come back and say, oh wait nevermind because one group already played round 6. Then they come back and say nevermind AGAIN, because the head administrator’s computer crashed and it was over. Oh they also said that TeamSpeak, which they were using for communications was hacked.
In the end there are reports of players getting booted from both the tournament and TeamSpeak even though they were 4-1 and able to move ahead in the brackets.
Needless to say, it was poorly mismanaged and something I am glad I didn’t sign up for.
Listener Questions – (color coded to separate the questions)
Hey guys, loving the show. Could you talk about the different deck types. Like what’s the difference between a rush deck or a control deck. What’s ramp? What’s tempo? And go in depth with it? I’m trying to build the right decks but I am finding it hard.
All the best from the Gold Coast
From @ShinyRob – I come from Magic and tried Hearthstone on a whim on my iPad. I immediately loved the sleek interface and faster gameplay…
- How did you guys get into Hearthstone?
- Have you played Magic?
- Do you play games other than HS and WoW?
Question – How many Play and Arena wins do you all have?
- Alex in Japan
Hello again fellow gamers!
I have a few questions, answer any that you wish!
1) do you know how experience is calculated after a game?
2) for each of you, which classic or basic card has personally increased in value since the release of GvG?
3) for each of you, which class do you feel was most improved and least improved by GvG?
(Personally as a primarily Druid player pre-GvG, I feel Druid was the least improved and Mage was most improved!)
4) as crazy and splashy as most legendaries are in the game, I feel that the epics are the real power cards in both classic and GvG, what are your thoughts on epics vs legendaries? Especially for new comers when considering what to save up dust for.
Reviews and Emails
I wrote you guys a review in the I-Tunes store a little while back before Espo joined in (Leo shout out) and wanted to writing again to say he’s a great addition to the show. You guys are hilarious together. I couldn’t see as I podcast the program while I’m working, but Espo and his mug were cracking me up. Being a new dad I don’t have too much time these days, but love the Hearthstone community and enjoy building my friends list in game. I wanted to see if you guys would be up for a game some time or just a friend add. If you are, just look me up via email. Keep doing what your doing, it’s great content for the community.
Starting playing Hearthstone a few weeks ago and got addicted pretty quick. Searched Hearthstone podcasts in iTunes and yours is the one that came up.
I’m enjoying going back and listening to all the class strategy guides and I’m glad you made Espo a permanent fixture. The guy needs more friends and he also ruined the Hobgoblin for me which I recieved in my 2nd GVG pack.
Question – How many Play and Arena wins do you all have?
Would also love to have your friend details so I could watch a few games and learn some things. Still sitting around rank 19.
