1. GDC – Hearthstone’s UI Designer Presentation
2. Black Mountain Updates – 3 new cards revealed
[Lava Shock] – Shaman class card – 2 mana, Deal 2 damage. Unlock your Overloaded Mana Crystals.
[Axe Flinger] – Warrior class card (common) – 4 mana, 2/5 minion, Whenever this minion takes damage, deal 2 damage to the enemy hero.
3. Odds of getting to Legend – http://www.reddit.com/r/hearthstone/comments/2xnqbs/the_odds_of_you_getting_the_legendary_rank/
You’ve unlocked the Priest hero and have gained all the basic class cards through leveling up to 10. Now you’re ready to take on those Priest quests that have been building up.
Priest has some very useful basic cards, we suggest that you take the basic deck that the game gives you and and make a few substitutions with the cards gained from leveling and a few created with dust.
2x [River Crocolisk] —–> 2x [Thoughtsteal]
1x [Razorfen Hunter] —-> 1x [Holy Nova]
1x [Bloodfen Raptor] —-> [Auchenai Soulpriest]
1x [Darkscale Healer] —-> 1x [Holy Nova]
1x [Stormwind Champion] —-> 1x [Cabal Shadow Priest]
1x [Stormwind Champion] —-> 1x [Mind Control]
If you are going first I would try to hold onto any 2 mana minion, [Power Word: Shield] and [Holy Smite]. These cards will allow you to clear their 1 drop and allow you a minion on turn 2.
If you are going 2nd I would keep all of the above, but also keep [Thoughtsteal]. This card can be played on turn 2 with the The Coin.
Playing this deck
You are probably thinking, “Why not play [Northshire Cleric] on turn 1?” With this card, I find that if I do not use it to get a card on the turn I play it, it just acts as a target for a low cost removal spell or is just killed off by a minion that will stay alive after killing it. So I usually play it when I know I can get the most from it. Unless… I can play it and [Power Word: Shield] on it. Then I am fine with not healing to gain the card.
I always tried to keep my opponents board clear of minions and used my hero power to keep my minions alive. I rarely healed myself and use my hero power to keep my minions alive to help clear the opponents board.
Be careful when healing your [Gurubashi Berserker]. If you heal him back to full, he will lose his bonuses for being enraged.
And keep in mind that trying to heal a minion or yourself while [Auchenai Soulpriest] is in play will “Deal” 2 damage, not heal it. I’ve fell victim to this trick one too many times. Pay attention. But, with the case of the [Gurubashi Berserker], dealing damage to it to enrage is not a bad idea at all.
The Priest is still one of more difficult classes to master. We covered the Priest back in episode 23 and if you want to know more about the basics on how to play the Priest I would recommend that you go back and listen to that episode. Lots of information about the class, combos and the cards in general.
I’d like to take a moment and look at the new cards that have been introduced since we looked at it last time around. GvG came out since then adding a whole new level of difficulty and challenges. And there are even more combo options available to consider. In fact, I honestly don’t think we’ve seen all of the crazy combos that can come with the class and we’re sure to see more once Black Mountain comes out next month.
The new class specific Priest cards in GvG are:
[Light of the Naaru]
[Upgraded Repair Bot]
Priests are very good using combos and that’s one area I want to focus on at the moment. Let’s just look at 4 of the very cool combos you can use with the new GvG Priest cards.
[Vol’jin] + [Holy Smite]
This is one of those combos that will turn the tide on just about any game. [Vol’jin] steals the health of any minion and swaps it’s health, which is 2 with them. Then all you have to do is play Holy Smite and even the biggest minion will fall.
2. [Shadow Madness] + [Recombobulator]
[Shadow Madness] will temporarily move an enemy minion to your side of the board. Then you play [Recombobulator] on it to transform it into another minion, which is now your minion.
3. [Shrinkmeister] + [Cabal Shadow Priest]
[Shrinkmeister] will reduce a minion’s attack by 2. You can then use this to reduce a 4 attack minion down to 2 and then steal it.
4. [Auchenai Soulpriest] + [Light of the Naaru]
This is the Priest’s version of the Warlock’s [Darkbomb]. [Auchenai Soulpriest] turns healing power into direct damage. [Light of the Naaru] heals for 3 damage and then summons a [Lightwarden] if they are still damaged. When used with Auchenai, it does damage and summons a [Lightwarden].

Matto205 – Fun Podcast for the Casual HS Player
New to the podcast and a quick shout out to say you do a great job! I’m a huge fan of HS, but I’m about the only one I know. Great to tune in, have quality content, that is well prepared. Keep up the great work and if you’re ever looking for someone to deck test, I’d be up for it!
Emil – Hey!
I’ve been listening to your podcast for a couple of weeks now, grinding through the episodes from episode one while travelling.
Since I’m only on episode 30 now I don’t know if this is still true but I noticed that there are styles of random decks that have not yet been tried. While there is the random deck that you normally do in which you select your hero, press done etc there are at least two others I can think of.
1: False Arena
Select your hero and make a blank deck. Then press ‘suggest a card’. This will bring up three options for your deck and it will allow you to select one of them, just like in arena – then it will keep bringing up cards untill you press ‘close’ or until the deck is full. I suggest playing a match in which you have to do this for all 30 cards of your deck, meaning that it is still random but it is more controlled.
2: Real Randomness
At the bottom of the page in your collection it will say page ‘X’, where X is a number. If you use an RNG you can take a random page from all your pages. Then, use another to select a single card out of the eight on each page to put in your deck. Repeat this 29 more times. This will be truly the most random it could be, since even hearthstone’s auto-constructor considers curve and whatnot. WARNING: This may take A LOT of time, I’m not sure. I’ve never actually done it and I thought it up while writing this email.
Anyway, asides from that I love your podcast so far and am excited to hear more episodes. If your friends list isn’t full, I’d also like to add you to mine on the American server.
Thanks for all the great content,
